Supporting European deep-tech innovation through the European Innovation Council

04/03/2026

As part of the service portfolio offered by the European Innovation Council (EIC), FEUGA’s iHUB holds an accreditation that enables us to directly support disruptive projects on their path to market. Within this framework, we were invited to participate as speakers in a specialised webinar, where we shared our experience helping organisations unlock the value of their R&D assets and bring them closer to commercialisation.

During the session, we highlighted intellectual property (IP) as a strategic asset for technology transfer and investment attraction. We explored how sound management of patents, trade secrets, and utility models is essential to safeguarding prior knowledge. We also addressed key tools for any innovator, such as freedom-to-operate (FTO) analysis, technology readiness levels (TRL), and the various pathways available to commercialise a technology.

As contributors to the EIC’s service catalogue, we continue to provide specialised support in areas such as legal IP advisory, ecosystem connections, and strategic guidance on business planning and matchmaking. Through initiatives like this, we reinforce our commitment to helping Galicia’s deep-tech innovation successfully compete in Europe’s most demanding programmes.
