The InnovationGUIDE project, in which FEUGA participates, has successfully concluded a series of four regional stakeholder events held in Turkey, Spain, Malta and the Netherlands, key events to analyze opportunities and barriers in rural innovation and entrepreneurship. These meetings facilitated a rich exchange of knowledge and ideas between local Q-Helix innovation ecosystems.
FEUGA led the regional event in Spain, held in Santiago de Compostela on June 20, entitled “From the idea to the market: driving rural entrepreneurship through innovation”. The event was attended by more than 50 people from the Q-helix and strategic sectors such as agriculture, bioeconomy, sustainable tourism and fisheries. The day focused on collecting data and experiences on the opportunities and barriers affecting rural entrepreneurship, the results of which will be compiled in a detailed analysis to be shared in the near future.
As a follow-up to these fruitful meetings, InnovationGUIDE is organizing an inter-regional innovation event scheduled for September 2024. This event will serve to connect rural innovation ecosystems and entrepreneurs from all member countries, collaborate with networks and new entities, and co-create with representatives from public entities, industry, academia, civil society and entrepreneurs.
This interactive workshop aims to discuss with rural ecosystem stakeholders and obtain their opinions, perspectives and feedback on rural development, information that will be the basis for a bi-annual innovation program with recommendations for implementation. These insights will be crucial to develop effective strategies and policies that foster sustainable and inclusive growth in our communities.
