Santiago de Compostela Hosted the Closing Ceremony of the Fourth Edition of the GESCI&GOSCI Program, a training initiative promoted by the Xunta de Galicia and organized by FEUGA.
This program aims to foster excellence, continuous improvement, and international leadership among research centers and institutions in Galicia.
Specialized Training to Lead Change in R&D&I
The GESCI project consists of two training tracks tailored to different professional profiles:
- GESCI: Aimed at those who lead research centers. It provides a 360º view of the organization, contributing to strategic planning and anticipation of environmental challenges.
- GOSCI: Designed for technical and management profiles. It focuses on optimizing internal processes, outcomes, and management systems, with a clear orientation toward continuous improvement.
Content Aligned with Current Challenges in the Scientific Environment
Both tracks share a common foundation: six thematic pillars designed to comprehensively address the challenges of scientific management:
- Positioning: Analysis of the current scientific and technological landscape.
- Strategy & Assessment: Strategy design.
- Governance: Governance, organizational structures, and management models.
- Funding: Fundraising and financing.
- People: Attraction and development of research talent.
- Management: Implementation of efficient and productive operational management.
The program is aimed at professionals in the research field, including the following types of entities:
- Centers accredited for excellence and recognized as members of the CIGUS Network.
- Centers recognized as collaborative research centers (on the path to excellence).
- Officially accredited specialization campuses.
- Universities within the Galician University System.
- Public Research Organizations (OPIs), technological centers, and the CSIC.
Ongoing Support to Participating Centers to Generate Impact
A key element of the program is its post-training advisory service. Participating centers receive personalized support from experts to help implement internal improvement projects.
An Edition with an International Dimension
The fourth edition featured speakers from nine countries, bringing a global and enriching perspective to the program. This diversity helps align Galicia’s research ecosystem with internationally recognized standards of excellence.
