The Fundación Empresa-Universidad Gallega (FEUGA) is part of InnovationGUIDE, a collaborative project with entities from Turkey, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malta aimed at promoting sustainable rural development. This initiative focuses on agriculture, fishing, bioeconomy, and sustainable tourism, connecting networks to boost entrepreneurship and economic opportunities in rural areas across these countries.
In October, FEUGA participated in key activities within the InnovationGUIDE framework, aligned with its goals of regional growth and sustainable development.
A FEUGA team attended the Türkiye Innovation Week 2024, held from October 10-12 at the Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul. Organized by the Asamblea de Exportadores de Turquía, this 11th edition drew over 15,000 attendees, establishing itself as a vital platform for exploring how innovation can drive economic growth in rural areas.
During the event, a specific session was dedicated to InnovationGUIDE, discussing the impact of innovation on rural development and the creation of entrepreneurial ecosystems in key sectors. This session brought together international stakeholders from the four participating countries, fostering a space for exchanging ideas and experiences on rural innovation.
The FEUGA team, accompanied by Eva López Barrio—leader of the Woman Emprende program at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) and president of Alumni USC—actively participated in discussions and activities. Eva López is recognized for her work in knowledge transfer and her leadership in gender equality initiatives in innovation, such as the Innovatia 8.3 project in collaboration with the Instituto de la Mujer.
As part of the same collaboration with USC, FEUGA also took part in an entrepreneurship workshop led by López Barrio in the Master’s program in Industrial Mathematics. This session explored the SWOT tool in a theoretical and practical setting to support students’ interest in entrepreneurship, helping foster young talent in Galicia and enhancing regional competitiveness.
These activities demonstrate FEUGA’s commitment to promoting rural innovation and entrepreneurship in Galicia, strengthening its presence in international innovation ecosystems and working to position the region as a leader in sustainable development.
