The 4th edition of the Spinoff Europe Conference will take place from June 19 to 20 at the Gate Institute in Sofia, Bulgaria.

This event, organized by BioCluster and the Health and Science Cluster of Bulgaria, serves as a key platform for promoting technology transfer, science-based innovation, and the creation of university spinoffs across Europe.

The main goal of the conference is to drive the development of over 10,000 native European spinoffs by the year 2030, encouraging collaboration between researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors to transform innovative ideas into successful business ventures.

Our colleague from iHUB Teresa Sixto will attend the talks, debates, and round tables taking place throughout the event. In addition, she will also participate on the first day in the session Scaling Science to Market: EU Projects Boosting Spinoff Potential, where ENACT – Advancing Biotech for Better Health, a project funded by HORIZON EUROPE whose mission is to develop innovative biotech solutions to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes will be presented.

On the second day of the event, the Keynote: Tech Transfer Experience – Best Practices will be held, where our colleague will share the team’s experience in the field of technology transfer, particularly in the entrepreneurial environment, highlighting the best practices identified over time.

She will also be able to attend the spinoff pitching sessions, where startups will present their solutions to an international audience of investors. Over 40 spinoffs from sectors such as health and biotechnology, among others, will be showcased. The conference will conclude with an awards ceremony recognizing the year’s most outstanding spinoffs, followed by the Spinoff Party, a closing celebration where spinoff members, researchers, and investors will have the chance to network and exchange ideas.
