{"id":43151,"date":"2025-02-21T12:52:25","date_gmt":"2025-02-21T11:52:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.feuga.es\/?p=43151"},"modified":"2025-02-21T12:52:27","modified_gmt":"2025-02-21T11:52:27","slug":"greendt-strengthening-environmental-engineering-education-in-uzbekistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.feuga.es\/en\/greendt-strengthening-environmental-engineering-education-in-uzbekistan\/","title":{"rendered":"GREENDT: Strengthening Environmental Engineering Education in Uzbekistan\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On December 1, 2024, the Greendt project, in which FEUGA leads the Work Package 7 on Exploitation, Dissemination and Communication, started its journey to enhance Environmental Engineering education in Uzbekistan by transferring knowledge from the EU, in alignment with the <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/strategy-and-policy\/priorities-2019-2024\/european-green-deal_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">European Green Deal<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This initiative, funded with 756.251,61\u20ac by the <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/education\/set-projects-education-and-training\/erasmus-funding-programme_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EU Erasmus+<\/a> program will run for 36 months, starting last December 2024 and concluding in November 2027. Aiming to enhance employability and student entrepreneurship, the project will set up a specialized master\u2019s program, cutting-edge laboratories, and an e-learning platform. It also seeks to promote a collaboration network among universities, industries, and governments to foster innovation, green jobs, and a climate-neutral society.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coordinated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipvc.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Instituto Polit\u00e9cnico de Viana do Castelo (IPVC)<\/a>, the GREENDT consortium is composed of 11 higher education institutions and key players in innovation and sustainability. The partners are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipvc.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IPVC<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ua.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UAVEIRO<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvigo.gal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UVIGO<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.feuga.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FEUGA<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/kiut.uz\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">KIUT<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/web.andmiedu.uz\/uz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ASTI<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/jizpi.uz\/uz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JizPI<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ferpi.uz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FerPI<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/greenuniversity.uz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CAGU<\/a>, and associated partners <a href=\"https:\/\/gov.uz\/en\/edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MHESI<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/gov.uz\/en\/eco\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MEEPCC<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Launching the GREENDT future<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The partners, including FEUGA, gathered from February 18-20 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, for the Kick-Off meeting. Hosted at KIUT, the meeting discussed environmental engineering education, along with the objectives and activities of the project, laying a solid foundation for the future.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representatives and ambassadors of European institutions also attended the meeting. Mr. Toivo Klaar, Ambassador of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eeas.europa.eu\/delegations\/uzbekistan_en?s=233\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EU Delegation to Uzbekistan<\/a>, and Aziza Abdurakhmanova, coordinator of the <a href=\"https:\/\/erasmus.uz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">National Erasmus+\u202fOffice in Uzbekistan<\/a>, witnessed the project&#8217;s first steps.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of this initiative, Uzbekistan is expected to make significant progress in training professionals capable of addressing current environmental challenges,
