The first, \u201cInnovations in Sensor Technologies for Advanced Composites Manufacturing,\u201d was held on November 4th, followed by \u201cAdvances in Structural Health Monitoring (SHM): Innovation and Value Creation in Aeronautics\u201d on November 7th. Materials from these sessions will soon be available on the MORPHO project website.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is still an opportunity to join the final workshop on November 26th, organized in collaboration with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centexbel.be\/en\/projects\/recarbosize\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>ReCarboSize<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecomp.eu\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>EureComp<\/strong><\/a> projects. This event will focus on <a href=\"https:\/\/events.teams.microsoft.com\/event\/085c0a04-3b80-4e17-85ab-35da93f736f2@017e0ce2-fadf-473d-b391-79b029c300fd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Advances in Laser Shock Techniques and Carbon Fiber Recovery for Composite Material<\/strong><\/a>\u202fand feature insights from leading experts.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Speakers &amp; Presentations:<\/strong>\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Laurent Berthe, Arts et M\u00e9tiers Institute of Technology<\/strong> \u2013 <em>Laser Shock Disassembling: Fundamentals and Versatility for Reuse and Recycling<\/em>\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Professor Konstantinos Tserpes, University of Patras<\/strong> \u2013 <em>Numerical Simulation of Laser Shock Disassembly of Adhesively Bonded CFRP\/Metallic Parts: From Coupon Scale to Structural Part Scale<\/em>\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pierre Fiasse, European Funding Coordinator, Comet Group<\/strong> \u2013 <em>Recovery of Carbon Fiber from Composite Aeronautic Components by Thermal Treatment at Industrial Scale<\/em>\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Jun Yin, Researcher, Sustainable Functional Fibres &amp; Plastics, CENTEXBEL<\/strong> \u2013 <em>Evaluation of Resized Carbon Fibers for Reuse in Thermoset Composite Manufacturing: A Study of Individual Fibers<\/em>\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Costas Charitidis and Dionisis Semitekolos, School of Chemical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens<\/strong> \u2013 <em>European Recycling and Circularity in Large Composite Components (EureComp): Sizing Effect on Reclaimed Continuous Carbon Fibres\u2019 Properties Extracted from Recycled Automotive Composite Parts<\/em>\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This workshop will help fulfill the project\u2019s objective of promoting sustainable end-of-life solutions for aircraft components, with a focus on eco-friendly disassembly and recycling. The methods discussed, including laser shock techniques for efficient carbon fiber recovery, aim to maximize the reuse of valuable resources while minimizing environmental impact.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project will culminate with a <a href=\"https:\/\/morpho-h2020.eu\/final-conference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>final conference<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>in Vigo, Spain, on January 30, 2025. This conference will feature a poster exhibition open to all stakeholders in sectors related to MORPHO. A template for submissions is available, and contributions will be accepted until December 31, 2024. Participants are encouraged to showcase their work and innovations that align with the project\u2019s themes.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the MORPHO Project\u202f<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EU-funded MORPHO project, titled \u201cEmbedded Life-Cycle Management for Smart Multimaterials Structures,\u201d is dedicated to advancing aerospace manufacturing through integrated sensor technology and sustainable end-of-life solutions. By embedding sensors into aircraft engine components and developing laser shock techniques for material recycling, MORPHO aligns with Industry 4.0 goals to promote automation, sustainability, and efficiency across the aerospace industry.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Launched in April 2021, MORPHO has worked to transform the aerospace industry through the integration of advanced sensors in aircraft components, allowing for real-time, data-driven insights throughout their lifecycle.
